Buddhist Meditation
This course offers a guided exploration of Buddhist meditation practices, designed to cultivate inner peace, clarity, and self-awareness. Rooted in the teachings of the Buddha, our journey combines reflective discussions on essential Buddhist principles with dedicated meditation practice, creating a balanced approach to understanding and integrating these teachings into daily life.
Each session includes time for exploring key concepts in Buddhism—such as mindfulness, loving-kindness (Metta), and the nature of the mind—allowing space for questions and insights. This discussion provides a foundation for the meditation practices that follow, where you’ll learn practical techniques to calm the mind, ease emotional turbulence, and connect more deeply with yourself and others.
Whether you’re new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, this course provides a supportive environment for self-discovery and growth. Guided by ancient wisdom and real-life applications, you’ll develop resilience, cultivate inner calm, and find a greater sense of balance and freedom.
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and meditative practice where each posture and transition is synchronized with the breath, creating a flowing sequence of movement and stillness. Through this practice, we explore contrasts such as strength and flexibility, tension and relaxation, and reaching and letting go. Gradually, we discover that it’s not about choosing one or the other, but about expanding our inner space to welcome all aspects of ourselves.
While the sequence of postures is traditionally set, modifications are always made according to individual needs—whether due to injury, energy levels, life stages, or personal goals.
Mysore Style
We practice in the traditional Mysore style, a unique approach where each student receives individualized guidance within a group setting. Rather than following a general class sequence, each person is taught a customized sequence of postures, suited to their current phase of life. Students learn one-on-one, moving at their own pace, with each breath guiding each movement.
This style offers a beautiful opportunity to dive into a “meditative dance,” connecting deeply with the breath and body. Within this dance, physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts come into greater clarity, inviting us to be present with them without attachment or aversion.
Through this practice, Ashtanga becomes more than physical exercise; it’s a path to self-discovery, inner peace, and a deeper connection to the present moment.
Chanting
Chanting is a transformative practice that combines breath, sound, and focused attention to create harmony within the body and mind. In this course, we explore the power of chanting and its effects on our inner and outer worlds. Chanting is not just about vocalization; it’s an ancient practice that resonates deeply within our being, bringing clarity, calm, and an enhanced sense of connection.
In this courses, you’ll also develop an ear for melody and rhythm, as well as the clarity needed to pronounce Sanskrit words. Through focused listening and practice, we’ll cultivate a refined awareness of sound, both within ourselves and in the voices of others. Chanting together allows us to connect deeply with each other, synchronizing our breath and voices, and creating a shared field of peaceful energy.
My offerings draw from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Shanti Mantras, Chantings from the Vedas and Pali Chants from Theravada Buddhism. Through a gradual process, we deepen our connection to these timeless teachings, gently training our minds to focus for longer periods, deepening awareness and our connection to spiritual practices.
